Role Definition & Key Responsibilities
dMeter Stewards
As a dMeter core steward, you have the role of being one of the key anchors of the work we do. Your role is to lead the process of creating the structures and processes that empower dMeter members to develop accessible, holistic, and equitable (dMRV) systems that provide robust information to inspire, improve, and incentivize local regenerative action.
Stewards:
- are nominated by another Steward &/or Member Org
- are advocates for dMeter, bringing people on board and champions for the ecosystem
- lead the iteration of governance processes
- cultivate the know-how of dMeter (e.g., how we are organized, whom to ask about what, what projects are active across multiple Circles)
- represent dMeter to the larger MRV community,
- Expected time commitment: At least 5+ hours per week to keep active and “on top” of what’s happening, attend the sprint planning / retrospective, community, meetings, and monthly Steward Councils
- are a servant leader in the dMeter ecosystem, looking for ways to help the ecosystem as a whole succeed e.g:
- Greeting new members and helping them find their way into the right circle meeting and project.
- Recruiting contributors to the projects you’re focused on and empowering them to work towards your shared objectives.
- Communicating with other core stewards to gauge the overall health of dMeter.
- Cultivating a healthy and collaborative workspace that aligns with our ways of being and principles
- show up consistently to create, provide feedback on, and vote on dMeter proposals
- guide the strategic focus of dMeter based on what the dMRV space and its members need.
- are passionate about our collective purpose of creating holistic, accessible, and equitable and dMRV technology.
- fundraise so dMeter’s treasury is at a healthy level with enough runway to last for at least 6 months.
- help guide dMeter’s media communications directly
- engage in dMeter community & external conversations, consider & promote dMeter’s interests (ie your socials)
